An artist's rendering of the United Nation's Declaration of Human Rights (Duke University's Nasher Museum of Art, Permanent Collection), that I photographed on May 12, 2011. A perfect photo to post on the arrest day of Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb general charged with orchestrating the largest mass killing of civilians in Europe since World War II. Mladic is being transferred to the United Nations to be tried for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, perhaps specifically for violating the U.N.'s article #5: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
